  1. What a great meeting! Such great ideas for the car! I loved the find-it, and name-it games. And of course my polar-pop! Thanks Cathy!

  2. So bummed to have missed this meeting! I have heard such great things from it! Definitely could have used that Polar Pop!! My give-aways were the coloring books and crayons. Nothing extraordinary, but I will say with coloring books in tow, I am able to take my family of 6 (!) to any restaurant and have a wonderful, low stress time! So, coloring books and crayons are a constant in my diaper bag and van :-)
Can't wait to hear your ideas!

  3. My kids favorite destination is Great Wolf Lodge in Ohio. We have been two times and have had great experiences! They ask on a daily basis when we are going back!

  4. I loved the Find-It game also. I can't decide if I want to make it or buy it though! A new MOPS Mom in my group...Erica..had a great travel thing with her. It was Neosporin spray and it was small like a key ring...very cool!

  5. I love the idea of the find it game. I think I'll make it with a water bottle (I've seen this done before for class parties at school, and called an I SPY bottle). No matter if it's a plane ride, a long car trip, or just a couple hours, I always have a bag of activities to pull out one at at time, some new dollar tree surprises, along with snacks for us all.(I have to be munching when I'm driving a great distance).

  6. I had a great time at this past meeting. I decided to try and make a "find it." I went to Hobby Lobby back to their Miniture house section. I bought several miniture things and will take a picture of each (to put in an album for Delaney-5 and Lauren-3)and put another copy in a "sleeve" to be used with a dry-erase marker (for the older ones.) I haven't decided if I want to use rice or the fish pebbles things. I let you know how it goes!

  7. Because Linnea and I travel on airplanes often, I have a huge cache of items I use on an airplane. I bring those Crayola markers that only mark on special paper (so she can't color all over the tray table). Now that she's older, I do have some crayons, but I picked up some triangle shaped ones so they don't roll off the tray table onto the floor. I also bring stickers so she can put them in a coloring book and lots of snacks. I also check her carseat so she has more room on the plane and it's one less thing for me to carry (you can still check a carseat for free).

  8. My discussion group was full of ideas too!! Loved Becky's idea of a metal pie plate and magnets. Addison has a book that opens and is magnetic with characters that she loves. One thing I do is have "car" toys that she only gets in the car to try and keep them exciting and entertaining, key word being TRY. Stacy B.

  9. I really enjoyed the meeting. Just glad to hear, once again, that I am not alone in my traveling with children stress. We use lots of CDs, DVDs, snacks and a stop at a McD's for a new Happy Meal toy doesn't hurt either!
